You must screw into studs when mounting a tv on the wall.

Locate the two studs in your wall that will support your tv. Once the stacked stone installation is complete install the tv side of the wall mount on the tv unit itself and hang the entire unit on the wall. As you can see in the photo above my husband cut the stone wide enough to fit a piece of 2x4 wood long enough for the bracket we purchased. He screwed the 2x4 directly into the stud followed the mount instructions to attach the tv mount onto the wall.

A couple extra sets of hands can help a lot in this step by helping guide the tv into place and plugging in managing the cords. Do not use hollow wall anchors as they cannot support the weight of tv wall mount brackets and the television. The mount will attach to the mounting bracket that you have already attached to the stone. Most wall mounts will make a distinctive click when the unit is secured.

Once you ve picked an ideal location for hanging a tv on the wall run a stud finder along the top of the paper. Most wall mount kits comes with two mounting arms that attach. The mount will clip onto or slot into the mounting bracket on the wall.
