We had a contractor put in a new bathtub with tile surround. Our tub had needed a caulk job since the day we moved in a year ago yeah i d been putting it off. Sun feb 18 2007 9 24 pm. Pictures of this last caulking starting to come loose are included.

The house flipper did not do a great job with the bathroom. Problem is the caulking around the bottom of the tile field where it meets the tub keeps popping out. I highly recommend this as opposed to the method i used on my first caulking experience. I suspect the grout failed and allowed the water to get between the tile and concrete and the thin set let go.

Some of that may have to do with the fact that our tub isn t level with respect to the walls so the surround near the faucet was much higher than near the back end of the tub. But you can purchase a prepackaged kit about 600 and install it yourself. Hiring a certified fabricator to cut and install the material will cost 700 to 800 for a three wall 5 ft.
